My Story

I am an award-winning nurse leader, educator, and passionate advocate with a proven commitment to mentorship and advancing healthcare for underserved communities. My career has been defined by a tireless dedication to making a meaningful impact both in the classroom and beyond, empowering the next generation of nurses while striving to improve health equity on a global scale.

Currently, I serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at Villanova University, where I teach across the traditional and second-degree pre-licensure BSN programs. My dynamic teaching style integrates theory and practice, and I have expertise in courses spanning the entire nursing curriculum. I am committed to inspiring my students to reach their full potential and fostering a deep sense of compassion and professionalism in the next wave of nursing leaders.

Beyond my academic role, I am a devoted community health advocate, and my work stretches across local and international borders. In 2014, I traveled to 11 countries in 11 months, spanning four continents, as part of a Christian mission trip aimed at improving the physical, mental, and spiritual health of the communities I encountered. In 2016, I returned to one of those countries to independently lead a humanitarian effort to provide clean water to seven remote villages near M’nipoti village in Malawi. Through independent fundraising, I spearheaded the installation of a borehole, bringing life-changing access to clean drinking water to communities in desperate need. Since 2023, I’ve traveled to the Dominican Republic with nursing students to provide daily health clinics to Haitian migrants living in isolated sugarcane fields. In this setting, I draw on my international experiences while mentoring the next generation of nursing clinicians. This ongoing work continues to inspire those around me, showing the powerful impact of health promotion and global collaboration.

My commitment to education and advocacy also extends to my work as an author. In January 2019, I released Little Me Wants To Be, a children’s book designed to ignite curiosity and broaden horizons for children in underserved communities. Through stories that celebrate diverse career paths, the book serves as a tool for empowerment, engagement, and inspiration, helping young readers envision a future beyond their immediate surroundings.

Giving back is at the heart of everything I do. Whether through teaching, humanitarian efforts, or community involvement, I strive to uplift others, creating opportunities for those who need them most. My journey reflects my deep belief in the power of healthcare, education, and community-driven change to transform lives.
